The Viking Exhibition

Hello all!

I was scrolling through my pictures before, and I realized I had never posted about the Viking exhibit I had gone to a few months back at Discovery Times Square. The exhibit, which opened up back in February, showcases the biggest collection of Viking artifacts ever displayed in North America, many of which have never been shown out of Scandinavia.

Included in the exhibit are a full scale replica Viking ship, virtual tours of how the ships were made, interactive stations that guide you through a day in the life of the Viking people, not to mention loads of jewelry and metalwork that show off the rich Norse mythology. Needless to say, there were a TON of hammers of Thor and more swords that you could imagine.

The exhibit will run through September, so if you're in or around NYC you should definitely check it out. (Or just take a look at some of the pictures I took!)

The one on the right was a cat charm. Who knew Vikings
were cat people!

This was part of an actual Viking ship

These were ice skates!

If anyone wants to make some Viking bread!

  2. I'm so jealous, that exhibit sounds really interesting! The jewelry (especially the necklace) must have been even more amazing to see in person. Great shots! :D

  3. That sounds/looks like an awesome exhibit! Seeing a full scale longship must've been cool, even if it's "just" a replica :)
